One Woman Who Inspired So Many People

that we’ve come to know as Carol Edwards. Carol has been an inspiration to all who
have known her. She encouraged everyone to be a better person, to be a better citizen.

Please type carefully
On the Internet today you have to be vigilant to prevent your computer from
being hijacked by Spyware which monitors your activities, Adware which pops up unwanted
advertisements, Phishing which pretends to be another site, and Viruses which can
do real damage to your computer. These hackers often use IP address from other countriess.*
Typosquatting,
also called URL hijacking, is the latest form of
cybersquatting which relies on mistakes such as typographical errors made
by Internet users when inputting a website address into a web browser. Should a
user accidentally enter an incorrect website address, they may be redirected to
another website owned by a cybersquatter.
For example, let’s say you are looking for the Whitehouse but make a mistake and
typed http://www.whitehouse.org/.
This will take you do an entirely different site. In effect, you have been deceived.
Other examples are http://www.amazon.net/
or http://www.Microzoft.org/.
Why does this happen? The owners of these site have purchased domain names which
apprear very similar to well-known web sites which have a lot of traffic in order
to divert users to their site when the users make a typing mistake. It is not illegal
but certainly dishonest and unethical.
So remember that our web site is http://www.WoodinvilleBlog.com.
We have had that domain name for two years and you, the community, have worked hard
to build up a substancial amount of visitors. You do not deserve to be deceived
and taken to another site.
Unfortunately, it has just been brought to our attention that names similar to http://www.WoodinvilleBlog.com have
recently been purchased and our visitors have been directed to a campaign
website without our consent.
WoodinvilleBlog.com
does not endorse any canditate and we are troubled that the purchaser of these domain
names would take advantage of our users.
Therefore, do not type in any of these URLs as they are owned by
Susan Boundy-Sanders in an attempt to redirect you to her web site:
if you wish to visit OUR site.
Our web site is http://www.WoodinvilleBlog.com.

IP address from other countries will get this image instead of our web pages. |

Roskind Resigns

Council member Mike Roskind resigned today, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 as a city
council member - presumably to take a position with HomeLand Security so he can
do for them what he has done to us.
CM Roskind took office in January 2006 and has served 20 months of his 4-year term.
The current city council members will be able to appoint someone to fill out the
remainder of his term. He ran as a "Slate" member from the Woodinville Citizens
First party on a campaign of fixing the roads and against the Civic Campus. He served
on the Emergency Preparedness Committee.
He and his wife ran the Roskind Appraisal business.

Al Taylor on the Fence
Al Taylor in his opposition to the Sports Fields posted an image of a sign which
read "Notice Field Use for Scheduled Activities Only" with the remarks that the
City Council and the Woodinville Parks Commission would spend $14 million, take
away the sports fields and give them to special interests.

New Civic Center Renovation Begins
The new Carol Edwards Center includes updated heating, air conditioning, and
plumbing systems, improved floor plans, and updates to the appearance of the former
elementary school.
And the Sports Fields will accomodate more days and hours of activity while lowering
maintenance costs due to new synthetic grass.
Demand for community classes and activities has strained the capacity of the facility
and prompted the City to invest in repairs to make the center more functional and
enhance safety and security for customers and staff.

The Citizens First party, composed of Chuck Price, Mike Roskind, Hank Stecker, and

the Woodinville Weekly refused to distribute it.
